What is toxicroak weak against

Toxicroak is a Poison-type and Fighting-type Pokemon first introduced in Generation IV in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. It is also the evolved form of Croagunk. Knowing what Pokemon Toxicroak is strong and weak against will help you in battles against it. By the end of this guide, you will learn Toxicroak’s weaknesses in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

What is Toxicroak’s Weakness in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl?

What is toxicroak weak against

Toxicroak is a Poison-type and Fighting-type Pokemon. It is weak against Psychic-type, Ground-type and Flying-type Pokemon. Ground-type and Flying-type moves will deal double the damage to Toxicroak, while Psychic-type does quadruple the damage. If you encounter any of these types while in battle, you should swap Toxicroak out for another Pokemon type that counters these. Below is a list of some Pokemon that are strong against Toxicroak:

  • Abra/Alakazam
  • Mime Jr./Mr. Mime
  • Bronzor/Bronzong
  • Ralts/Kirlia

Toxicroak also takes less damage from six different move types. These include Bug-type, Grass-type, Fighting-type, Poison-type, Dark-type and Rock-type Pokemon moves. When attacking, any of these types will do half their usual damage to Toxicroak, with Bug-type moves only doing a quarter of their normal damage. Below is a list of some Pokemon that are ineffective against Toxicroak:

  • Wormadam
  • Drapion
  • Absol
  • Shieldon/Bastiodon

If you encounter Toxicroak while in the Great Marsh, it is important to use Psychic-type, Ground-type and Flying-type moves while attacking. Having any of these types in your party will help your chances of winning in battle against Toxicroak. Avoid using any of the six move types, especially Bug-type, that Toxicroak is strong against unless you have no other options. You may want to swap your Toxicroak out for a more effective Pokemon if you are against Pokemon that counter it.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are available on Nintendo Switch. For more information regarding the game and future updates, check out the official website.

The world of Pokémon has been a growing phenomenon since 1996, when the first pair of video games came out in stores. Pokémon started off as a video game series and although new creatures are primarily introduced in the video games, the anime series has become as popular as the video games. As of December 2021, there are almost 900 individual Pokémon identified by the PokéDex and in this article, we are going to tell you everything you need to know about one of them – Toxicroak.

Toxicroak is a dual Poison- and Fighting-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IV. It is the only evolution of the Generation IV Pokémon Croagunk, from which it is evolved by leveling up, starting at Level 37. Toxicroak has no Mega Evolution, nor a Gigantamax Form. It is weak to Flying-, Ground-, and Psychic-type moves, and is super effective against Fairy-, Ice-, Rock- and Grass-type Pokémon.

In this article, we are going to tell you all the information you’ll need if you want to breed a Toxicroak in any of the games. You’ll find out about its type, its powers, its strengths and weaknesses, its evolutions, and its moves. We’re going to focus on both the core games, as well as other popular video games based on the Pokémon franchise.

Best moveset

What is toxicroak weak against

In the PokémonGO videogame, the best moves for your Toxicroak are Counter and Dynamic Punch if you’re battling Pokémon in Gyms. Namely, this moveset gives you the highest total DPS and is, likewise, the best moveset for PVP battles. The official description for Counter reveals the following: “A retaliation move that counters any physical attack, inflicting double the damage taken”; as for Dynamic Punch, the attack is described as follows: “The user punches the target with full, concentrated power. This confuses the target if it hits.”

Weaknesses and Counters

As a dual Poison and Fighting-type Pokémon, Toxicroak is super effective against Fairy-, Ice-, Rock- and Grass-type Pokémon. It is weak against Flying-, Ground-, and other Psychic-type Pokémon. It is not immune to any specific types. It receives normal damage from Normal-, Ghost-, Steel-, Fire-, Water-, Electric-, Ice-, Dragon-, Fairy-type Pokémon.

  • Anticipation: The Pokémon can sense an opposing Pokémon’s dangerous moves.
  • Sheer Force: May poison a target when the Pokémon makes contact. (Hidden Ability)

Evolutions

Toxicroak is the final and only evolution stage of Croagunk; both have been introduced in Generation IV of the video games. The evolution is relatively simple – you just need to level up your Croagunk to Level 37 and it’ll evolve into Toxicroak. Toxicroak cannot Mega Evolve. This Pokémon doesn’t have any known Regional Variants.

In Pokémon GO, Toxicroak also evolves from Croagunk. To evolve your Croagunk into Toxicroak, you need a total of 50 Croaguk Candy. You cannot further evolve Toxicroak in the game.

In Pokémon GO, Toxicroak can learn Poison Jab and Counter as Fast Attacks, and Dynamic Punch, Mud Bomb, and Sludge Bomb as Charged Attacks. Some of these attacks depend on when you caught and evolved your Toxicroak, as they are event-only attacks.
