It's no surprise that as the College Football Playoff rankings continue to take shape, there's one constant every week — the SEC's presence in the Top-25. This week there are six teams ranked by the committee, including Nos. 1 and 2 in Georgia and Alabama. But perhaps this week's most enticing SEC battle comes from two teams ranked in the middle of the pack. MORE: Texas DL coach Davis goes on leaked tirade following loss to Iowa State No. 11 Texas A&M travels to Oxford to take on No. 15 Ole Miss in a key SEC West matchup. Both teams are 7-2 overall while A&M is 4-2 in conference play and the Rebels are 3-2 and seemingly on the outside looking in in the race for an SEC title. It hasn't been a totally lost season for both sides, though. The Aggies notched a signature win when they knocked off then-No. 1 Alabama 41-38 in College Station. Ole Miss, meanwhile, has one of the nation's top quarterbacks and Heisman frontrunners in Matt Corral. Through nine games so far, Corral has thrown for 16 touchdowns and just two interceptions while notching 2,526 yards and completing 66.8 percent of his passes and is one of the potential Heisman favorites. MORE: Ole Miss trolls former coach Hugh Freeze, apologizes At 7-2 on the season, Kiffin already has Ole Miss bowl eligibile and barring unforeseen sanctions like ones that have plagued Ole MIss in the past, should have the Rebels playing for a bowl game for the first time since 2015. This is potentially a must-win game for both teams as the odds of making the SEC title game with three losses becomes increasingly difficult.
