Who plays jeff colbys mom on dynasty

At the end of the second season of the 'Dynasty' reboot, Jeff and Monica Colby and their mother Dominique Deveraux had come up with a plan to remove Adam Carrington from their lives by making Jeff disappear and incriminating Adam with a cufflink. Unbeknown to the Colby siblings, Dominique had made a deal with her half-brother Blake Carrington to protect Adam and remove the cufflink in exchange for money.

But it seems Dominique's greed does not stop there. Dominique takes over the mantle left by Alexis Carrington, she tries to seek Power of Attorney over Jeff's assets, but her son has transferred it to an unidentified trust, the name of which she requires in order to access the money.

Meanwhile, Monica is aware that the cufflink is not part of the police evidence and she is on a mission to find out why.

To give herself time to access Jeff's money and stall Monica's investigation, Dominique drugs her daughter while searching for the trust's name. When Michael Culhane tells Monica what her mother was up to, she forces Dominique to go to the Carrington Halloween party where she eventually reveals that she did talk to the last remaining police officer and found out that the cufflink was removed before the police got to the scene—meaning she knows mama dearest took it.

That turned out not to be the biggest reveal as the man who was standing behind them during the conversation then turns around and takes off his mask—Jeff Colby is back!

Now that the Colby siblings know how much their mother values money over them and the lengths she will go to in order to secure the money, they have teamed up to kick her out of their lives for good.

But since Dominique is a regular character, we suspect this isn't the end of the Colby family's matriarch and that she may still have some tricks up her sleeve. We also know she has a secret family, so it is possible we may meet them down the line, now that her adult children do not want her around anymore.

'Dynasty' airs on The CW on Friday nights.

Break out your finest bottle of burnt champagne, because Dominique Deveraux is finally coming to Dynasty. ER‘s Michael Michele will step into the iconic role — played in the original series by scene stealer Diahann Carroll — towards the end of the reboot’s current season, TVLine has learned, with a possibility of her returning in Season 3 as a full-fledged series regular.

Blake’s estranged half-sister, Dominique is a “fabulously elegant, self-made woman, known for her outrageous fashion sense and penchant for drama. Dominique will return to Atlanta after a long stint in New York City where she spent the past several years seeking fame and adulation… to no avail. Now Dominique is home to reconnect with her estranged children, but does she really want to be part of their lives, or will she just disappoint them all over again? And what will the Carringtons have to say about her sudden, mysterious return?”

News of Michele’s casting comes less than a month after TVLine reported that Nicollette Sheridan is departing the show, with the role of Alexis Carrington likely being recast. Dominique and Alexis were notorious rivals in the original Dynasty, as evidenced in the glorious clip below:

In addition to playing ER‘s Cleo Finch from 1999 to 2002, Michele’s small-screen resume includes recurring roles on House, Gossip Girl, Star and Queen Sugar. On the film side, she’s known for her work in movies like Ali, Dark Blue and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.

New episodes of Dynasty air Fridays at 9/8c on The CW. What are your thoughts on Dominique’s long-awaited arrival? Your general hopes for the reboot’s future? Drop ’em all in a comment below.

Dynasty has decided to bring one of the most iconic and popular characters to the canvas. Dominique Deveraux will finally arrive.

From the moment that the reboot of the iconic soap opera hit The CW in 2017, fans have been clamoring for the character, portrayed infamously by Diahann Carroll from 1984-1987.

Deveraux commonly appears on all-time favorite television characters lists, and the character was a part of the most scandalous scenes in television history:

Michael Michele, most recently seen as a series regular for a season on Star, and most known for her roles on ER and Homicide: Life on the Street will play the character. She will begin appearing toward the end of the second season with a possibility that she’ll become a series regular in Season 3.

In the reboot, Deveraux is the mother of Jeff (Sam Adegoke) and Monica Colby (Wakeema Hollis) and the half-sister of Blake Carrington (Grant Show). It is a play on the original storyline of Dominique being Blake’s half-sister, but in this iteration, as the Colby family is race-bent, she married Cecil Colby, and her children are Jeff and Monica. She was not referred to as Dominique, but as “Millie,” and their father, Thomas Carrington, only knew her paternity. Because of this, series lead Fallon Carrington, portrayed by Elizabeth Gilles, unknowingly slept with her first cousin, Jeff.

Dominique’s current character’s description reads: “fabulously elegant, self-made woman, known for her outrageous fashion sense and penchant for drama.

The character’s introduction and Michele’s casting comes as the series has had high-profile exits (including Nicolette Sheridan as Alexis Carrington), so introducing the character is likely a move to bring new life (and attention) to the show. Despite never being a huge rating player, the series was recently renewed for a third season, which is mostly due to a mega-deal that The CW has for several of its shows at Netflix.
