He has his own subreddit at r/cwc and has PLENTY of sites and wiki articles devoted to him. (However, he is remarkably absent from Wikipedia.)
What made him the center of a huge meme subculture?
He seems like an unremarkable individual: Someone who went briefly to college and dropped out, hasn't worked anywhere in years, and lives with his 70 year old mother. Yet he's about 31. What makes him so revolved-around, and why can't I be revolved-around instead? (Because if I was, there'd be money to be made off of this!)
Chris-Chan was a noted figure of internet ridicule back in what feels like the mid-late 2000s, and as far as I knew the interest in their incredible social presentation and insistence that their original character Sonichu was more than just a combination of Sonic and Pikachu had waned considerably over the last 5-10 years.
Now, however, within the last few weeks I've seen multiple long-form videos upload to YouTube discussing Chris-Chan, with titles like "The Golden Age of", "The Rise of", and "A Comprehensive History", almost all at once.
What I'm out of the loop on is; why now? Why so many videos? And why only on YouTube, as other sites aren't reporting anything about Chris-Chan?

I see his name pop up in some threads and don't really have a grasp on who he is or what he's done.
