What to expect from the Bengals vs. Titans game?

The Bengals squeaked out a victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Super Wild Card Weekend with a 26-19 victory. However, Cincinnati’s offense left quite a few points on the field, keeping the Raiders in this game from start to finish. Can they afford to make those mistakes against the AFC’s No. 1 seed?

This Titans squad has been resilient down the stretch. Despite losing key contributors left and right, head coach Mike Vrabel rallied this team together and navigated his way to home-field advantage and a first-round bye. What is the reward of getting that first-round bye? Getting to see Henry play football again in the 2021-2022 season.

The All-Pro RB fractured his foot in Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts, but the Titans activated Henry from injured reserve before their season finale. However, he was not ready to play and was out for Week 18. Vrabel has shared that the power back has slowly gotten more reps in each practice these past three weeks leading up to the Bengals vs. Titans matchup.

Can Derrick Henry and the Titans’ offense keep up with the Bengals?

The competitive arrogance is oozing from Cincinnati. Second-year QB Joe Burrow is the coolest cat around right now and laughs in the face of pressure. And why shouldn’t he? Burrow was sacked 51 times this season, but the selection of WR Ja’Marr Chase in the 2021 NFL Draft helped unlock this offense’s potential.

The Titans’ front four has been a wrecking ball this year. Yet, their support in the secondary has been questionable. Can they hold up against Cincinnati’s explosive passing game and give Henry and QB Ryan Tannehill a fighting chance to pull this one off? The Bengals’ run defense is allowing a respectable 103 yards per game. Still, it will come down to whether Henry is truly back to his former self. If he is, that could push the Titans over the edge.
