Last Sunday’s 56-14 drubbing at the hands of the Cowboys might have knocked the Washington Football team out of the NFC playoff picture, but their season isn’t over yet. The WFT still has a chance to play spoiler against its division rival Eagles, who continue to roll. The Eagles come into D.C. having won three straight games, most recently bullying the Giants 34-10 in a divisional victory. It’s a grueling gauntlet for NFC East teams, with the Eagles finishing the season with four divisional matchups and Washington finishing with five.

Jalen Hurts has emerged as a legitimate quarterback for the Eagles, and a player who was considered a trade commodity early in the year has quelled those talks. Last week against the Giants he threw for 199 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while only carrying twice for seven yards. However, he brings an intriguing angle to the Eagles offense that makes it very difficult to scheme against, which has helped the Eagles offense put up 27-plus points in five of its last six games (though Gardner Minshew was quarterback for their win against the Jets).

As with all games played at FedEx Field, this particular matchup has the potential to get grimy. That may ultimately favor the Eagles, who lead the NFL in rushing at just under 2,500 yards. Washington stands eight against the run, making this a game of strength vs. strength. The Eagles prevailed two weeks ago at home, and with the Vikings, Falcons, and Saints just behind them in the NFC Wild Card standings, they have to continue to win to keep pace over those temperamental teams.

The Eagles are four-point favorites to win this game, which may be generous given the beatdown they received last Sunday. Theoretically there’s no way to go lower for the Football Team after its most recent loss, but it’s also looking to avoid a four-game losing streak with all of those losses coming at the hands of the Eagles and Cowboys.

Here’s what you need to know to watch Eagles vs. Washington this Sunday, including kickoff time, TV channels, and the full Week 17 NFL schedule.
