What time does the raiders game start today

The first football game of the 2022 NFL season was supposed to kick off tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET between the Las Vegas Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Unfortunately, the Hall of Fame Game - the first preseason game of the season - has entered a weather delay. As poor weather approached Canton, Ohio, fans were urged to seek shelter.

"Severe weather is approaching. Please seek shelter immediately," a sign read at the game.

The first football game of the season was supposed to kick off at 8:00 p.m. ET, but that clearly isn't going to be the case tonight. NBC has not announced when the game will start, but severe weather is supposed to continue to move through the area for the next few hours.

At this point, it's unclear when - or if - the game will start. We'll have the latest when a new start time is announced.

The Minnesota Vikings and Las Vegas Raiders meet up in Week 1 of the 2022 NFL preseason at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. ET and the game will air on FOX 9 in Minnesota and KVVU-TV Fox 5 in Las Vegas. Given that this is the preseason, we’ll see plenty of unknown and lesser known faces on the rosters. To keep track of who you’rewatching checking out the Vikings roster and the Raiders roster.

The Vikings finished a disappointing 8-9 last season, not clinching a playoff spot. Star WR Justin Jefferson had a breakout season, eclipsing 1,616 yards and becoming a great down-the-field option for Minnesota. Newly hired head coach Kevin O’Connell has valuable offensive firepower in Kirk Cousins, Adam Thielen and Irv Smith.

As for the Raiders, they are fresh off a 27-11 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in last week’s Hall of Fame game. Despite a fair share of starters not playing for Las Vegas, rookie RB Zamir White turned plenty of heads in the win. He rushed for 52 yards on just 11 carries, expect him to get more reps this time around as well.

The Raiders are a 3.5-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook and on the moneyline. The Vikings are a +145 moneyline underdog. The point total is installed at 34.

Update:

Update: The game is currently under a weather delay due to lightning and heavy rain. The earliest they will start is 8:40 p.m. eastern.

After months of waiting, Americans can finally breathe easy again because football is back on Thursday night. The preseason kicks off with the annual Hall of Fame Game, this time it’ll be the Jacksonville Jaguars taking on the Las Vegas Raiders. The game kicks off at 8 p.m. ET and it can be seen on NBC and streamed on Peacock.

The Jags will be entering a new era with Doug Pederson as head coach. The Super Bowl champion is replacing Urban Meyer, who found himself in controversy after controversy during his brief NFL stint. Former first overall pick Trevor Lawrence is back, though he won’t be playing in the HOF game. Neither will his college teammate, RB Travis Etienne, who missed his entire rookie campaign with an injury. Jags backup QB C.J. Beathard also won’t be able to play due to an injury, meaning former Oregon State QB Jake Luton will get the majority of reps under center. This is the second time that Jacksonville will be featured in the Hall of Fame Game, with the last time coming in 1995. The Jags lost that contest 20-14 to the Carolina Panthers.

The Raiders also saw a change in leadership, hiring longtime Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels to be their new head coach. It’s unlikely any of their big names like Derek Carr or new star WR Devante Adams hit the field Thursday, but it will be a good chance for fans to see the depth pieces the team has in place. This marks the fourth appearance for the franchise in the Hall of Fame Game, most recently having played in 2006. The Raiders are 3-0 in their other appearances in Canton, though this is the first time they roll into town under the banner of Sin City.

Raiders vs. Jaguars: TV Info

Game date: Thursday, August 4
Game time: 8 p.m. ET

The Raiders are a slight favorite, with a two-point spread in their favor. On the moneyline, Las Vegas is going off at -135 while Jacksonville is +115 as of Wednesday afternoon. The point total is pretty low, understandably, currently sitting at 30.5.

The Las Vegas Raiders are back on the field Saturday night as they play at the Miami Dolphins in their third of four preseason games.

What will new Las Vegas coach and Josh McDaniels and his staff be hoping to see against the Dolphins? More of the same.

The Raiders have played crisp and clean and have looked like the best team on the field in both games, against Jacksonville and Minnesota. Yes, it’s just the preseason, but it’s a good sign that the coaching staff has a strong influence on this roster.

So, McDaniels will be looking to keep an minimum on penalties, continue not to turn ball over and play good fundamental football against the Dolphins. Below is more information on how to watch the game.

Records: The Raiders are 2-0, the Dolphins are 1-0.
