China
China is clearly on its way to surpassing the US in the number of billionaires. Rising on top of the list, China’s top tiers are $1.3 trillion richer than in 2020. There are a total of 626 and have a net worth of $2.5 trillion. It looks like the country is fast and going strong to beat the US on the richest list.
India
India is in the third position with a total of 140 billionaires who have a combined net worth of $596 billion. The newcomers have helped India rise from its previous position below Germany. The richest person in the country is Mukesh Ambani with his net worth of $84.5 billion.
Germany
Germany takes the fourth position with a total of 136 members to the three comma club! Despite being pushed down by a spot, its billionaires have increased their net worth by $179 billion. Their current total net worth is valued at $626 billion.
Russia
Russia has a total of 117 people who make up a total net worth of $584 billion. In close competition with India and Germany, the country’s richest make a total net worth of $584 billion. The Mordashov family is the country’s richest and has a net worth of a little over $29 billion.
The distribution of the worlds richest is always amusing. This year’s list shows how those from the Asian-Pacific countries are slowly making their stand. With 1,149 billionaires in the region, they are slowly taking over. However, the US remains the top dog and the home to 26 percent of the world’s richest.
