How to create automatic farm minecraft

hey people! its time to build a wheat farm! this is my first 'ible so enjoy!

make sure you have no chickens in the area. this is a crucial step DO NOT SKIP!

build a 6x7 dirt platform and one more with 3 blocks in between

build a wall around your platform with 2 blocks high on the side with a trench around the dirt on 3 sides, repeat on other side

add water to the trenches on both sides

cover the water the length of the trenches

build up the center, between the two dirt platforms. place 1x2 block high rise in the center. place pistons on both sides facing in. place wall along the edge. build a 3x4 rectangle above the pistons with a hollow center

place a block behind and below the pistons

place a redstone repeater behind the pistons facing the piston, lay down a redstone dust line along the edge of the wall, above the dirt and bring it down to the front and place a lever.

PULL THE LEVER!!! pull it to make sure that you have the redstone circuitry in check, the pistons should close together like in the pic. put some water into the hollow rectangle above the pistons (while they are closed)

till the soil! it now should be watering the soil (the water in the trenches next to the dirt)plant your crops and wait

plant your crops. potatos, carrots and wheat will work in this contraption and............. wait........(5 days later) you crop should be grown by now so...

PULL THE LEVER!!!! pull it... just do it.... you know you want to... when you pull the lever the water will come down and harvest the crop! sometimes it may miss the corners so what you want to do is place 2 blocks in front of the waterflow like in the pic. and the water should flow all the way to the end!

replant. repeat. replant. repeat. ect. ect. ect.

note: i did this on creative so i could show you better but it works just as well on survival. you do NOT have to re-till the soil after the water flows through it. questions and comments appreciated! but be nice this is my first 'ible

have fun and keep crafting!!

Farming manually in Minecraft can be a tedious task, which is exactly why automating the process can save a player's precious time and allow them to perform other tasks.

By automating the farming process in Minecraft, players can simply build the farm, sow their seeds, and move on to other things. Once the farm has done its job sufficiently, players can come back and collect their harvest.

The only difficult part of the equation is building the farm in the first place, which can be made easier by implementing a simple design. The good news is that the community has posted a large number of simple automatic farms for players of any skill level to utilize.

Minecraft: Constructing a basic automatic crop farm

Achieving an automatic crop farm can be done in multiple ways (Image via WolfCommander13/Instructables)

Though many Minecraft crop farms are semi-automatic in nature (requiring the press of a button or the flip of a lever to activate), it's also possible to fully automate replanting through the use of villagers.

This may sound somewhat daunting, but if players are close by to a village, creating a simple and automatic crop farm can be done incredibly easily with only two villagers.

This will allow villagers to tend to a player's crops as they carry on with their other projects, and players can come collect their spoils at their leisure.

Building an Auto Crop Farm with Villagers

  1. Minecraft players should begin by tilling a 9x9 block area of farmland. This can be done by using a gardening hoe and right-clicking dirt/grass blocks.
  2. In the middle of the farmland plot, break the center block and fill it with water using a water bucket.
  3. Place a composter block over the water source. If players would like, they can also place an additional block on top of the composter in order to avoid villagers hopping into the composter and getting stuck. Glowstone blocks can make for a great asset in this regard.
  4. Around the outside of the farmland, build a fencing or wall that's at least two blocks high in order to avoid villagers escaping or roaming too far from the area.
  5. On one side of the farm, break two wall blocks in the center of the wall. This will become important later.
  6. Light the interior of the farm with things like torches, lanterns, or glowstone to ensure the light level stays high during the night.
  7. Back at the column of blocks that were destroyed, Minecraft players should dig a hole one block deep, then continue digging a one block hole to the next block to the left of it, then three blocks away from the farm. If done correctly, players should have a trench that begins from the hole in the wall and leads out from the farm.
  8. At the end of the trench in step 7, place a double chest. Then, Minecraft players should place three hoppers connected to the chest in the rest of the trench. The hoppers can connect to each other, with the hopper closest to the chest connecting to it.
  9. Build a "chamber" for the villagers around the gap in the wall on three sides, leaving the side facing the farm open, so Minecraft players don't build blocks on top of their farmland. This chamber should have an awning over the top as well.
  10. In the gap in the wall, place a fence at ground level and a trapdoor under the awning block.
  11. Minecraft players can now move their villagers into the farm via boat (they travel over the ground, albeit slowly), minecart, or a spawn egg if they're playing in Creative Mode. One villager should be placed onto the farmland, where it will claim the composter and become a farmer. The other villager should be placed in the closed-off chamber.
  12. Once the villagers are in place, Minecraft players can plant the basic crops they'd like in the farmland, including wheat, beetroot, carrots, or potatoes. The farmer village will tend to and replant the crops accordingly and attempt to trade the crops to the isolated villager, which will result in the items ending up in the hoppers and flowing to the chest for collection.

In Minecraft, farms are an efficient and quick way to collect various resources. Players can farm different types of resources, including minerals, blocks, and crops.

Crops are a versatile resource in Minecraft, and players can use them to recover hunger points, tame animals, and trade emeralds with villagers. Both beginner and veteran players need an auto-harvest farm for all of their crop needs.

An auto-harvest farm uses water to harvest crops. Players can farm wheat, beetroot, potatoes, and carrots on this farm. However, it cannot produce pumpkin and melon.

This article is a step-by-step guide to make an auto-harvest crop farm in Minecraft.

Items required:

  • Building blocks
  • Dispensers
  • Water buckets
  • any hoe
  • Redstone dust
  • Hoppers
  • Chest
  • Desired crops/crop seeds

Build the outline

To make this farm, players need a 9x9 area. Players can also extend the farm length-wise, but it will get a little complicated. Water will flow up to eight blocks in Minecraft.

Place water at the center of two sides, as shown in the image. Doing this hydrates the grass/dirt blocks for farming. Follow this up by using a hoe to till the grass.

Make a wall and place dispensers

Image via Minecraft

Players should then create a one block tall wall on the sides with water and place dispensers facing toward tilled land, as shown in the image. Now, place one water bucket inside each dispenser.

It's then time to place the hopper for the collection system. Make a hopper line facing the dispenser line going into a chest. Follow that by making a wall beside the hopper line, as shown in the image.

Plant the seeds and add some Redstone magic

Players can plant carrots, potatoes, beetroot seeds, and wheat seeds on this farm. Now, plant the desired seed/crop inside the tilled blocks.

This farm needs basic redstone knowledge. Place redstone dust above dispensers by crouching and connecting them to a lever, as shown in the image. Players can also use a button instead of a lever to create a redstone signal in Minecraft.

Completing the farm

Image via Minecraft

Increase the height of the surrounding wall by one height and place trapdoors on the side of redstone dust, as shown in the image. This prevents crops from getting stuck over blocks.

The auto-harvest farm will be complete and ready to use. After the crops are grown, activate the lever to use water buckets inside dispensers. Flowing water harvests the crops and leads them to the hopper.

Pick the seeds back from the chest and plant them again. This farm can be extended to produce more crops.
